HEALTHY SNICKERS YOGHURT PARFAIT






Snickers is definitely one of my favourite snack bars when I was young. I loved the combination of the creamy peanutbutter, with the sweet caramel and gooey chocolate 🤤. It is an absolutely taste explosion!! That's why I have been wanting to create a healthy snickers parfait for a while, and well. HERE IT IS! For the base we use a healthy vanilla coconut layer which pairs perfect with the sweet caramel and the absolutely bomb chocolate layer!


Healthy alternatives

In this snickers parfait I used Greek style yoghurt as a base to boost the protein content. In this way the nutritional value of this parfait is more balanced as well! I think it's super important to always include a good portion of protein in every meal or snack. That is also why I used some protein powder in the chocolate layer. It makes it not only super tasty, but definitely adds some satiety as well! Last but not least, we use banana and dates for sweetness in the caramel layer! Trust me, it's bomb!


Balance is the key!

I always say: BALANCE IS THE KEY! But that's really the case. Having some vegan snickers or Oreo's on a daily basis in combination with healthy salads is the way to go! Restricting will only lead to binging and other unhealthy episodes of eating, so make sure to include everything into your diet. That is why I think it's so so so important to include a variety of processed foods into my diet too! So take a snickers bar and enjoy it with this parfait!


🥜🍫HEALTHY SNICKERS YOGHURT PARFAIT 🍫🥜

INGREDIENTS:

⏰5 MIN (1 portion)

YOGHURT LAYER:

▪️200g of thick Greek style yoghurt (I used coconut)

▪️1/2 tsp of vanilla extract

▪️1 tsp of maple syrup


Caramel layer:

▪️1/2 ripe banana mashed

▪️1 medjool date mashed (soak if yours is too hard)

▪️1 tbsp of peanutbutter


Chocolate layer:

▪️1 tbsp of salted caramel protein powder @myproteinnl *

▪️1 tbsp of cacao powder

▪️splashes of pea milk (or any other plant milk)


*sub for 1 tbsp of almond flour + 1 tsp of cacao powder + 1 tsp of maple syrup

Toppings: vegan snickers bar, date pieces, chocolate chips & peanuts


Method👩🏻‍🍳:

1️⃣Combine all the layers by mixing all the layers separately in a bowl.

2️⃣Take a jar and layer everything: first the yoghurt layer, then the caramel layer and at last the chocolate layer.

3️⃣Top with some vegan snickers (I used @biotoday_) and ENJOY!
